5S Technologies is a regional IT solutions and services provider serving the greater Carolinas. With two offices to provide the services you need, our main office is based in Cary, North Carolina and our South Carolina office is located in Myrtle Beach.
Company History
5S Technologies was founded in September 2014 by the Shook family. The Shook family has been responsible for providing integrated data center solutions since 1988 when they founded Strategic Technologies. Similar to STI, 5S Technologies is headquartered in Cary, NC and our foundation is based upon honesty, respect, genuine care for others. These foundations drive a culture in our organization that demand commitment, dedication, and excellence.

Meet The Executives
MIKE SHOOK
CEO/FOUNDER
Mike Shook serves as President and CEO of 5S Technologies. Mike’s vision was to create a customer-focused company that would provide data intelligence on a simple architecture that supports mission critical applications. His vision was realized with the founding of 5S Technologies. Building on over 13 years of technology sales, marketing, and management experience with Strategic Technologies and SLAIT consulting, Mike’s goal is to make 5S the first choice for technology services.
Born in Toledo, Ohio, Mike moved to Cary, North Carolina in 1988. Mike has a Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a business minor from Appalachian State University where he was a member of the varsity football team and a member of Sigma Phi Epslion fraternity. He is an active volunteer in the community and serves on several non-profit boards including the Kraft Family YMCA, where he is the Chair for Major Gifts. He lives in Cary with his wife and three children. His passions include his deep commitment to his faith, family, friends, sports, and community outreach.
JAMEY DURGIN
CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
As 5S’ Chief Technology Officer, Jamey is responsible for expanding the 5S suite of products and services, developing a strong customer-focused culture, and fostering business relationships with new and existing clients. He joined 5S in November, 2014 and is a key member of the strategic and visionary team. With over 20 years of experience in technology, including former positions with First Citizens Bank, Capital Bank and Network Data Systems, Jamey provides a wide breadth of knowledge for our clients.
Originally from Salem, Massachusetts, Jamey moved to North Carolina in 1998. He resides in Apex with his wife and son. He coaches youth sports, supports local charities, and enjoys cooking, playing sports, gardening, and spending time with his friends and family.
